During COVID-19 our clients from the ‘Friendship Group’, who had to self-isolate were keen to still enjoy a meal prepared by our cook Lynn. Donations received during this period from the community e.g. tinned foods, sweet treats and toiletries were also distributed to the clients along with their delicious meals.
Crafted cards and pictures hand prepared with love by local families and their children have been included in the hampers. Clients have thoroughly enjoyed reading these special messages and receiving these drawings of support and hope for the future.
Our volunteers unable to continue with their usual roles along with new volunteers offered their assistance to deliver the delicious frozen meals to our clients weekly in their vehicles. Weekly delivery of these meals has kept the clients connected to Melville Cares and at times a social chat for a few minutes has been greatly appreciated.
