El’s passion for aged care and the quality of service delivery, particularly ageing with contentment, enablement and independence, emerged at an early age. Born to parents around 50 years old, she became familiar with issues facing ageing individuals and their carers.
El has over 30 years’ experience in the area of human resource management and training, commencing in the mid-1980’s. In 2002, El started her own consulting business as an event coordinator and for the past 10 years, has worked in the Aged Care sector as the Manager of Operations at Melville Cares.
El has a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and her forte is educating support staff in reablement. She also has a Certificate III and IV in Aged Care and Disability and Diploma in Community Management and an Advanced Diploma in Community Sector Management.
In her own time El enjoys family dinners with her grown up son and daughter on ‘Mumday’ nights, paddling her kayak on the river with friends, weekend rides on the Indian Scout with her partner and attends regular body balance classes to stay fit. Champagne sessions also assist her to keep a healthy work/life balance!
