June Barton OAM

Patron

June was a founding member of Melville Cares and is currently Patron as well as a Board Member. She is professionally qualified in nursing, public health and social science.

June has served on a variety of public advisory and professional bodies and worked effectively with government, political, social, cultural, and commercial organisations. She currently represents the Bicton-Attadale-Alfred Cove Ward as a Melville City Councillor, having previously served as Mayor for two terms, and is Freeman of the City.

June has been a Justice of the Peace since 1989. Her local government and community contributions were acknowledged by the Medal of the Order of Australia, and she was named Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International, supported by all the Rotary Clubs in the City of Melville: Applecross, Attadale, Booragoon, Leeming, and Melville.

Andrew joined Melville Cares as a Board Member in 2020. Andrew has been a director of several not-for-profit boards. He is the immediate past Chair of Advocare, Inc. as well as a former Chair of The Australasian Podiatry Council and the Australasian College of Podiatric Deans. He has been a director of the Australian and New Zealand Podiatry Accreditation Council and is currently a director of several private entities.

Andrew is a local business person as well as a former resident of the City of Melville. He is a podiatrist by profession and works in private practice as well as having worked as a part-time academic. In 2023 Andrew was nominated and a finalist for the AICD Not for Profit Chair of the Year.

Kelli is an experienced senior executive with a diverse background across the not-for-profit, government and private health sectors in Western Australia. She has a strong strategic focus on Australian health care and health workforce, with a commitment to delivering health workforce solutions for rural communities.

Kelli is currently the Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Rural Health West, an independent non-government organisation dedicated to improving access to health care for people in rural and remote regions of Western Australia.

Bachelor of Science; Diploma of Education; Graduate Certificate in Counselling and Development

Glynis joined the Melville Cares Board in 2020. As a City of Melville Councillor, she currently represents the Bicton – Attadale – Alfred Cove Ward. She is committed to ensuring effective and transparent governance practices.

She was a senior teacher for many years, and she now acts as a consultant for the Department of Education and the School Standards and Curriculum Association of Western Australia.

Masters of Laws (Majoring in Tax); LLB/Bsc

Mona is a Senior Legal Counsel with Fortescue Future Industries.  Prior to Fortescue, Mona was a special counsel in Lavan’s corporate team. She has more than 15 years’ experience in corporate and commercial law and has acted on a range of corporate and commercial transactions including regulated and unregulated mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, fundraising, syndications and restructuring advice in respect of listed, unlisted, government clients and not-for-profit clients.

 
 
 

Brian O’Keefe

GAICD from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management, General Manager Program UNSW Business School, Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment, Bachelor of Business (Finance).

Brian joined the Melville Cares Board in 2023 and has more than 10 years of  support services and advocacy experience the community and not-for-profit sector. He is the current Chair of ConnectGroups Support Groups Association WA Inc and former Non-Executive Director of Advocare and OPAN (Older Person’s Advocacy Network). Brian is a financial services executive with experience in small and large-scale businesses and personal finance. He brings to Melville Cares positive leadership, skills in risk management, corporate governance, compliance and financial literacy.

Sam is a finance professional with more than 30 years of local and international experience.  He has a reputation for establishing and restructuring companies by identifying and implementing strategies, controls and procedures to build robust and resilient organisations.  He has lead teams in various jurisdictions around the world and has an acute understanding of cultural requirements in order to produce the best results possible whilst respecting traditional and cultural beliefs.

Linda is an Acting Senior Policy Officer at the WA Department of Health working in Aged Care Programs and Planning, and is experienced across both the non-profit and government sectors in Western Australia. Linda has experience in administrating outreach programs to rural and remote Western Australia, and has held both project and policy positions across the WA Department of Health.

She has a strong understanding of navigating the aged care system from both a professional and personal perspective, with a drive to improve this process for consumers and carers.

Maria has held a number of executive roles in both the aged and disability sectors. She brings strong leadership and a breadth of experience, working with teams to exceed client expectations through bringing together an engaged workforce with sound business processes. Maria is committed to developing services that are based on strong relationships and personalised service while achieving growth and ongoing sustainability.

Maria is a registered psychologist, graduate of INSEAD Business School and has held a number of board positions. Maria is currently a Board member of Directions Disability Support Services.

Brenda is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years’ experience in senior finance roles in a range of private, ASX-listed and not-for-profit organisations in both Australia and the United Kingdom. Brenda has extensive experience in financial management, financial modelling, mergers and acquisitions and strategy development and execution. Brenda is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and completed the McKinsey Executive Leadership Program in 2022.

Michelle has held a number of leadership and management roles in Aged Care and brings a wealth of experience and in-depth knowledge across the funding models of Community and Home Care. Combined with her strong management, people and financial skills, her background in legal and contract compliance and her extensive knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards, Michelle provides leadership and expertise to ensure Melville Cares remains focused on our purposes and values while we grow.
