Are you or your loved ones considering end-of-life care at home? 70% of people say they want to die at home surrounded by family and friends. In Australia less than 15% per cent of people die in their own homes.
This small group workshop, presented by Professor Davina Porock from Edith Cowan University, will provide the information you need, including a handbook for you to keep and the opportunity to ask questions. It includes:
• The benefits and challenges of end-of-life care at home • Understanding the dying process
• Recognising active dying • Care in the last days and hours of life
• The role of specialist palliative care • Care at and after the end of life.
