Announcement of Melville Cares’ CEO Richard Foster’s Retirement

The Board Chair, David Endersby, of Melville Cares would like to announce the retirement in August of our long serving and popular CEO Richard Foster. Richard has had an enormous impact on Melville Cares, and through that the wider Melville community, for over 20 years. We wish him a long and happy retirement.

The Board is also very pleased to announce that a new CEO has been appointed. Ian Carter AM brings a wealth of experience and community mindedness through his roles at local, state, national and international community service organisations. Ian was awarded an Order of Australia in 2009 in recognition of his significant contribution to the community.

He is currently on a number of Boards including the national White Ribbon Australia Board and is Co-Chair of National Anti-Poverty week. Ian has recently left Anglicare WA where he has been CEO for the last 24 years. Ian has lived in the Melville and Fremantle region for over 30 years and is looking forward to working at Melville Cares and in his local area, meeting all of the staff and volunteers in the next little while.
