Extending a Hand in Friendship

Maintaining a connection

A friendly and safe scheme aimed at enriching the life of lonely or isolated residents in local aged care homes and hostels.

The Community Visitor’s Scheme is a national program funded by the Commonwealth Government. Volunteers regularly visit residents living independently, in local aged care homes and hostels who would benefit from a friendly visitor.

Our visitors form friendships with residents they are matched with by reading, listening to music, reminiscing or playing a game. We focus on those who have limited family and social contact and may be at risk of isolation from the general community.
